We set off in great spirits after reaching a fundraising target before Christmas and so in January the club opened its doors to new members of all ages.
Recreational children have been working hard to pass their British Gymnastics Badges and next term will work towards their internal competition, which is a great way to show family and friends the skills they are learning.
The advanced class are now working on routines for their internal competition which is being held on the last Sunday of the term which is 2nd April.
7 teams (73 girls in total) of Scorpion Cheerleaders are preparing for National Championships which is to be held in the Manchester Velodrome on 18th March. This is a brand new experience for many so we wish them the best of luck.
Dan Purvis and Frank Baines are training new routines for the Scottish and British Championships and then they head off to Europeans! Our under 10 boys achieved 3rd place at the Northwest competition so we are delighted so much talent is coming through and all their hard work paid off.
Each competitive girl squad member passed their regional grade as well so this term has been so successful for each individual here at the club.
Alongside all these achievements we have still been working to raise money. 10 individuals from various areas of the club took part in a sponsored abseil down Devils Gorge. The 10 included the club manager, trustees, coaches and gymnasts and managed to raise £4k in total!!
Since then we have had a quiz night, cake sales and been to Tesco to do a Bag Pack event.
